Juan Caldés was born and raised Catholic in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, but grew up in the United States. He graduated from Emmanuel College in the fields of political science and finance. He has lived in Spain, United States, United Kingdom, Israel and Belgium. At age 18, Juan discovered his family's Jewish roots which led him to convert to Judaism.
